Introductions – Pudge

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

Well, I already introduced you to myself, so I thought that now would be a good time to introduce you to the “babies.” First up is Pudge, alias: Bubba. Those of you with kids might recognize his name– it came from Lilo and Stitch, “Pudge controls the weather.”
Pudge is a big kitty. It seems like he stayed little for about 5 minutes, and then promptly grew up. Cats grow for 18 months to 2 years… he’s seven months old and already the size of a full grown cat. He still hasn’t “grown into” his paws and ears yet, so he’s definitely going to be a large cat. I like to say that he’s just trying to earn his name.
Other things about Pudge: He has the longest tail I’ve ever seen on a cat. I think he’s part monkey. You can see his colorings in the picture, for the most part– he has a distinctive mark, though. He has a white streak about an inch long in the middle of his back. He loves to get on the kitchen counters, even though he knows he’s not allowed. He hates being locked out of the bathroom. He loves plastic bags. None are safe. If I bring home groceries, he is in 7th heaven burrowing in all the bags. He is also very jealous of his sister. If she comes up to lay by me, he will come lay in between so that he is closer. Silly kitty.

Introductions – The Author

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

I figure I should take a break from trying to figure out this whole coding and wordpress thing and introduce you to the author.
My name is Jennifer. I’m 23 years old, currently single and looking. I’m working as a security guard at a local plant right now. You’ll probably see me mention my job in passing, my coworkers, and security in general, but I won’t be going into too much detail about my job and where I work as I have no desire to be fired for blogging.
I don’t have any children, but I do have two very spoiled kitties. Their names are Pudge and Lucy. They are seven months old, and I imagine you’ll hear about them more than once. I’ll give you proper introductions to them later.
My best friend had a baby at the end of October that I am an adoring “Auntie” to. My brother and his fiancee are expecting a little boy at the end of January. I expect you’ll read about my two beautiful nephews.
I majored in English in college, but I grew up in hick Indiana. Don’t be surprised when I spell things wrong or make glaring grammatical mistakes. I have my excuses ;) Don’t worry, I’ll still feel entirely justified in correcting your English.
I enjoy reading, and I’ll read just about anything. I read trashy romance novels and the “classics” with the same amount of enthusiasm. My “old lady” hobby is crochet. I made about 8 baby blankets in 4-5 months, so I’m a little burnt out right now, but I’ll pick it back up eventually. I also love movies. I’d love to see more movies in the theater, but I seem to have lost my movie buddies, so I tend to buy or rent the ones I want to see instead. I collect DVDs, but the financial strain is making me slow down on that a bit. I owned a 180 DVDs at last count, not including the TV on DVD sets.
Well, I guess that’s about it. I’m not sure what you might want to know… I’m generally pretty bad at these introduction things!

Hosting Newbie

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

When I said growing pains, I didn’t know how accurate that would be… I’ve never had my own domain before, and I’ve certainly never had to try and figure out ftp and hosting. I’ve been trying to get a theme up and tweak the site, and I’ve been getting stumped around every corner. This is certainly going to be as long of a process as I feared it might be.

Welcome!

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Hi all! Welcome to Footprints on the Moon. I’m hoping to make this my main blog eventually. I honestly have no idea what this is going to look like in the end, so I hope you’ll bear with me through all of the “growing pains,” as the whole domain thing is brand new to me!
