AI: Four More Hit the Road

Posted by Jennifer on March 2nd, 2007

Well, this week we say goodbye to four more Idol hopefuls. You may have noticed that I never posted an opinion on the girls performances this week. Well, that’s because I haven’t finished watching them yet!!
This week A.J., Nick, Alaina and Leslie are all going home. I can’t say that I’m surprised by the results this week, except for the fact that Sanjaya didn’t go home. Over and over again I was reminded why I stop watching the results shows every year. First of all, they drag it out… I hate the way he lets people know they’re going home. And until the final 5 or so, it’s more of a popularity contest than a singing one.
And Fantasia and Kelli Pickler? Are all the good Idols busy??

I have a new job

Everything is all good and official now, so I guess I can blog it. I’ve been too nervous that something is going to fall through! I’m moving to a new job within the company I’m currently working for. Our current receptionist just got officially hired in with the company we provide security for. My boss offered her position to me probably about a month ago, and it’s been becoming more of a sure thing lately. Got the word a week ago today that she was tentatively hired for the job. Found out this morning that it is official, and there’s no longer a possibility of anything falling through. WOOHOO!!!
Starting Tuesday morning, I’ll be moving to first shift. I’ll have my evenings free, and weekends off. Paid holidays! I’ll be able to see my friends more often, see more of my nephews… this is a very good thing. I’m nervous and excited.
The only thing that sucks is the uniform. I’ve spent the last week trying to convince my boss to let me go business casual, but it seems like that’s going to be a no-go. The new uniform is going to be black pants, white shirt, goofy woman’s tie, and a black blazer. With an embroidered crest on it no less. I have boobs. A blazer is not going to look nice on me. I know this company, and I know it’s going to be like pulling teeth to get women’s clothing. So even if they get me a woman’s blazer, it’s going to look bad with a man’s shirt that doesn’t fit right underneath. And there’s no way I’m going to end up wearing the blazer all day long anyways. It will drive me crazy, and I’ll take it off. Ditto the tie. Maybe if I keep at it I can wear him down… Janette did- that’s why she doesn’t have to wear the awful uniform he wants to put me in! He’s been trying to put her in it for ages, and he finally gave up. Maybe if I just refuse to give him my sizes… ;) Just kidding, of course. I’m not happy, but I’ll get over it. Who knows, it might not be as bad as it sounds… right? Right?
