Ergonomic Adjustments
March 8, 2007 on 9:23 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsOne of the “perks”, if you want to call it that, of my new job is that the company we work for is big on ergonomics. This means that if I find that the current chair at my desk is making my back or neck hurt, I’ll have the opportunity to have them order me a chair to fit my particular ergonomic needs. The chair that’s currently there cost them upwards of $600, or so I’ve heard, so I’m sure they’ll have no problems ordering me one of the leather executive chairs from Coaster Furniture. What do you think?? Probably too big for my space…
Appetite Suppressants
March 8, 2007 on 9:16 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsIf you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know that I am/was trying to lose weight. I’m sure you’ve also noticed that I’ve stopped updating you. This is because I’m at a standstill, and I didn’t want to post week after week saying “I’m still where I was last week!” It’s discouraging, and annoying. In the media lately, I’ve been seeing alot about appetite suppressants, or things like hoodia. I can’t help but wonder if these things actually work… or if the risks associated with many of these products are greater than the rewards. In any case, if you’re considering using something like this, please go with something natural!
The Pound
March 8, 2007 on 9:10 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWhen I was in England for two weeks, we spent one week in a small-ish hotel and one week in an even smaller Bed & Breakfast. We actually stayed in more than one bed and breakfast. When we were in Stow, I believe it was, our group was split up at three separate houses. Four of us were at one called “The Pound.” The owner was a really sweet lady who made amazing food for breakfast, and hugged us all goodbye when we left. Our professor certainly enjoyed calling us pound puppies for the two or three nights we were there. I wouldn’t mind going back.
AI: Goodbye to Four, Hello Top Twelve
March 8, 2007 on 9:02 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments
Tonight we’re saying goodbye to four more contestants as we usher in the top twelve for next week. (Side note: As I’m typing this, Sanjaya and Sundance are waiting on their results, and if Sundance goes home in favor of Sanjaya, I’m gonna be mad. Okay… moving on.)
I was actually able to watch most of the performances episodes this week which was a nice change from previous weeks! I still think the girls are blowing the boys out of the water for the most part. The girls’ episode was more enjoyable to watch than the boys’. My personal favorites are to this point Sundance (obviously), Chris Sligh, Lakisha, and Melinda.
The results are in, and going home this week are Antonella (FINALLY), Sabrina, Jared, and I can’t believe it, Sundance. Seriously. STOP VOTING FOR SANJAYA. He’s got absolutely NO personality!!
Adjusting
March 8, 2007 on 8:48 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI’m slowly adjusting to first shift, but it’s harder than I thought it was going to be. I did a whole lot better today about not being too tired during the work day, but it was very, very hard to get my buns out of bed this morning! If I have the willpower, I’m going to stick to the 5:30 am schedule this weekend. It would really help in getting myself used to getting up so early, but I doubt I’ll have the willpower to get out of bed then!
Today was a pretty good day. I had a lot less really dumb moments… I still felt out of my depth for some things, but it’s getting better. I even handled a really busy time in the lobby by myself, and I didn’t panic! Yay! I’ll be more almost on my own tomorrow though, so that will be a better judge of how I’m doing hehe Will be completely on my own on Monday.
