Reality TV Junkie
I have a confession to make. I am a reality tv junkie. I don’t know what it is about those kinds of shows, but they just draw me in, and I’m hooked. I think there’s just something about the fact that the people you are watching are real people and not just actors. Seriously, if there’s a reality TV show that I don’t really want to watch, I avoid it because if I watch one of the episodes, I’ll want to watch the rest– I just “have” to know what happens in the end!
Do any of you remember that show Paradise Hotel from like 2003? I watched the first episode because it just happened to be on, and I was sucked in. I did not miss a single minute of that show. Because a hotel guest went home each week and was replaced by a viewer, it just wasn’t safe to miss something. I was sooo invested in what was happening! Alot of people didn’t like Dave and Charla, but I rooted for them the whole time. I’d like to know where they’re at now.
These days I’m watching American Idol, America’s Next Top Model, and the search for the next Pussycat Doll. Actually, the final of the Grease show is on as I’m writing this. I’m good at that– tuning in for the final one or two episodes and then pulling for people like I’ve been invested from the beginning.

Hee!
I’m a big ole fan of reality TV, too! Ever since the Real World debuted on MTV in 1991, I’ve been hooked.

I like Survivor, and TAR the best. Other reality shows don’t do it for me.

I’ve never really been able to get into Reality TV. I’m a big Sci-Fi/Fantasy junkie every one has their addictions

I LOVED Paradise Hotel!! I wish they would do another one. Though I guess its probably better that they don’t because then I’d be glued to the TV and wouldn’t get anything else done!

I’m not a fan of reality tv at all. I have far too much of my own reality to watch other people’s reality…LOL

I got addicted to the Amazing Race the year that the 2 gay guys won. That’s about the extent of my reality TV viewing. Oh yeah, and the first season of America’s Top Model. I watched that.

I am so like you, Jenn – if I tune in, I’m hooked!! And I mean, hooked!
But – since I spend so much time on the computer these last few years, I really haven’t gotten hooked on too many.
Like Amy – it was the Real World that raked me in, too – I tried and tried to quit watching, but, just could not! Heehehee
You know that one about the ‘ugly, obnoxious’ “groom” – that one was so mean! But I just couldn’t stop watching it!!!

I’ve heard good things about America’s Top Model, but I don’t think that’s something I would actually watch. At any rate, it’s definitely interesting for me to see what other people are hooked on

I like some reality TV. I miss The Mole on ABC. I liked that one a lot. Extreme Makeover Home is my favorite show in the whole world even though it makes me cry every time I watch. Idol I can live without. Top Model is Tyra Banks model show right? I like her attitudes towards modeling a lot, she is more about building confidence and being proud to be yourself and that’s the kind of role model young girls need.

I’m quite selective when it comes to reality TV shows.. Can’t blame me, a lot of reality shows have mushroomed since Malaysian Idol (which takes after American Idol) — we now have “Can you dance?”, “One in a Million” where even established artists can participate (!!) and “Nescafe Kick-Start” to name a few
