I not only remembered to take a picture for Self Portrait Sunday, I also am remembering to post it on Sunday! This is the picture I took of myself shortly before heading out to spend the afternoon at my Grandma’s. She made a pork roast, dressing, parsley potatoes, and creamed corn. It was very good (which reminds me I need to put the leftovers in the fridge before I forget). My cousin Steph ended up coming over, and we all played a game of Phase 10 in which they whipped my butt, and a game of Skip Bo in which I kicked theirs!

Recognize the shirt Cass? It’s one of the ones you sent me! (Oh, and everyone ignore the fact that the calendar still says March.)
To participate in Self Portrait Sunday, visit DigiCass and post your picture to share!

My mom got me a skillet and a Betty Crocker cookbook for Christmas. I’ve used the pan over and over again, and the cookbook is well read. Notice… that is well read, and not well used. I’ve flipped through the cookbook time and time again looking for things to make. So far I haven’t gotten any farther than that.
I never really learned how to cook, so anything I would attempt would be a trial and error thing. Everything always seems a little too complicated, or a little too much food to take the time and try and make for just myself. But if I’m having someone over for dinner, I don’t want to risk ruining something and having nothing to eat. So over and over again, the cookbook continues to be read and not used.
I make really good tacos, and really good homemade sausage gravy and biscuits. There are a few other things I can do. So who wants to come and let me expiriment with dinner? If it turns out really bad, I’ll either make you some sausage gravy, or I’ll order pizza. Takers?

Everyone who sees Lucy says “Awww…. look at that face!” She just looks so sweet! People just don’t believe me when I try to tell them how rotten she is. Her “grandma” (my mom) always says, “No, she’s so innocent!” Well, sorry Mom, today I caught some of her rotten-ness on film.
Sorry it’s so dark, you can’t exactly tell the cat to do it over again. At the beginning, you can hear me laugh at her for falling off the chair.
I stopped there because she got the box open and was licking the cheese off of a Cheez-It at that point. This is a new change for her… last week she was digging in my box of Lucky Charms.

One thing I failed to mention in my little weekend re-cap is that I got out of bed this morning feeling like I needed to look up “hangover cures” on Google. No, I wasn’t drinking last night, I just felt that lousy when I got up today! One of those mornings where you think “Man, I should have gone drinking last night. At least then, feeling this crappy would be justified!” Since I know you’re all very concerned about my well being, I’ll just let you know that I felt fine once I was up and around for about half an hour or so!

I wasn’t at home all day on Friday. Erica was at my work when I left, so she followed me home so I could change. Then we went to Walmart so I could spend my money. I picked up my car, and then hung out at her house for the rest of the night. Hung out with her and her husband, and played with Aiden. We watched part of Running With Scissors, but it was just weird, and we eventually shut that off in favor of The Ant Bully.

Yesterday was a pretty boring day. I didn’t do a whole lot. I put on the DVDs I have from Netflix while I puttered around the house picking stuff up. I went out to get dinner, and I took a walk before it got dark. I didn’t walk as long/far as I wanted to, but my back was hurting pretty bad, so I had to come back. At least I got out and got moving, and got some fresh air for awhile. I’m trying to make better choices, health-wise, and getting outside to walk is a part of that. Especially now that I’m not doing rounds at work- I’m stuck behind a desk all day.
Today, I’m having lunch with my grandma and hanging out with her. I’m going to take a couple loads of laundry over there, so I have clothes to wear to work this week, and we’re going to play games and such. Should be a good afternoon!
