1408

Most people who know me know that I believe in the supernatural. I absolutely, 100% believe in ghosts. I’ve had experiences personally with “little girl who lives in my room”, and my mom has stories that make my skin crawl. You know, things like seeing the face of an old man in the front of a stainless steel refrigerator. I have an unnatural curiosity for all things supernatural, but NO desire to experience it!! I want to read about it, and see pictures, but under no circumstances do I want to see it myself.

I am rather sadistic however, in that I like to watch scary movies even though they make me so scared I want to wet myself. I am usually bright enough to not watch a disturbing movie alone. One movie that has peaked my interest and has got me looking for someone’s hands to break, I mean, someone who is willing to go to movie with me. It’s the 1408 Movie starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. Cusack’s character decides that he doesn’t believe in ghosts, having seen no physical evidence of their existence, and decides to spend 10 nights in haunted hotel rooms. All goes well until he checks into room 1408 of the legendary Dolphin Hotel. According to the hotel manager, there have been a total of 52 deaths in that room alone, and noone has lasted more than an hour in the room. Cusack throws down the gauntlet, and the room rises to the challenge spectacularly. The beside alarm clock sets itself to 60:00 and the one hour countdown begins. I couldn’t even begin to explain what happens next, so you’ll just have to check out the trailer below. Spooky! Who’s coming with me to see the 1408 Movie?

Summer TV

Yeah, most shows have had their series finales, so it’s time for summer programming. Pardon me if I say… summer TV sucks. It’s barely started, and I’m already annoyed with it. I spent a good while scanning the TV listings tonight, and the only thing I actually want to watch doesn’t come on until 10pm. Which is, of course, past my bed time. I guess I’m either going to have to get used to watching reruns, or beef up my Netflix queue. Yep, summer is usually movie time. Hopefully the good ones hitting the theaters don’t take too long to make it to DVD. I want to see them, but I don’t have the extra cash.
