Do any of you, dear readers, do anything with scrapbooking? I’ve put together scrapbooks for both my Germany and my England trips, but they are pretty much just colored card stock and paper edger scissors. Functional, but not overly cutesy. Over the past week or so, though, I’ve been playing around with digital scrapbooking stuff. Alot of places have free kits to download, so I downloaded a bunch of them, and started playing around. I’ve been having fun, and while I’m not 100% sold just yet, I do think digital scrapbooking is much less overwhelming than paper scrapping is. I have plenty of patterned paper, some stickers, even a Sizzix die-cut machine, but the thought of doing nice pages with those supplies just overwhelms to the point that I don’t get anything done. Shuffling around digital elements in photoshop though? Where I don’t have to stress about cutting things thanks to Ctrl+Z? Yeah, that’s pretty awesome.
I watch TLC. Alot. I think I’ve mentioned that before. More often than not, I end up watching Take Home Chef, with the adorable Aussie Curtis. And it reminds me that I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. You know, get a Sydney Hotel, and then just soak up the city– see the sights, and soak in those sexy accents.
I think it’s going to have to go on the “to-do list” because even cheap Sydney hotels, or any Sydney accommodations for that matter are out of my price range. Well, any travel is out of my price range. I’m squeezing a trip to vegas in November in anyways, but Australia is definitely not going to happen. Yet.
Oh.my.goodness. So at lunch today, Janette tells me that they found a huge spider in their kitchen sink this morning. She says he’s three inches to the tips of his legs… now, I understand that this is a large spider, but I’m picturing something more along the lines of a Daddy Long Legs… she trapped it and brought it to work to show off. So a little while ago she came down with this thing. She didn’t even get in the room and I could see the spider in her container. It is, without a doubt, the BIGGEST spider I’ve ever seen, and I *thought* I’d seen some big ones. I was too freaked to get a good look at it. I might try and get her to come back down here with it, but I have the biggest heebie jeebies just from being within 5 feet of that plastic container. He looked big enough to chew his way out.
I don’t think I’ve really mentioned here that I love my sister-in-law. When it comes right down to it, I couldn’t have picked someone better for Ryan. I was so afraid that he’d end up with someone completely horrible, but she’s friendly, and bubbly and we get along so well. She’s so good for my brother, and he clearly adores her. Not to mention that she gave me a completely squeeze-able nephew!
They have their share of disagreements– they know each other’s buttons, and they like to push them often. The change in my brother since he met her, and they had a baby is amazing. After she had her c-section, she decided she wanted to put Depends over her incision to catch the seeping, and without batting an eyelash, he walked into the store and bought incontinence supplies for her. Now if that’s not love…
As I mentioned in my Self Portrait post yesterday, I went to church with my mom yesterday. There was at least one person that said I look like my mom. Apparently no DNA test will be required.
It’s not the first time we’ve heard that, but it surprises her every time. People tell me I look like my grandma, and people tell her she looks like grandma, so chances are… lol I’ve been searching my online photo accounts for pictures of my mother, but since she’s pretty anti-photo, I’m not having any luck.
I did find one of me and my dad though… do I look like him?
