When I was a freshman in college, I had an amazing roommate named Leslie. As it turned out, she was fresh off of a trip to Spain to visit her highschool boyfriend, Luis. He’d spent the year in Indiana as an exchange student. I’ve always wondered how that is fair, by the way, our students go somewhere exotic, and they get stuck in the middle of a cornfield. I think transfer students who go to NYC or someplace like that at least get a slightly better deal.
Well, that’s besides the point. I got to talk to Luis at least once when he called from Spain to talk to her. She’s pretty happy with her partner now, but I wonder if she hasn’t ever thought she should book a hotel in Spain and head off to see him. I’ve heard that Spain is not the place to be in the summer due to the heat, but if you’re going to see someone like that, I don’t think the heat would bother you!

Today just so happens to be 07/07/07. And just like 01/01/01, 02/02/02, etc, etc, this won’t happen again for another 1000 years. I was told today that supposedly astrologists, and numerologists are calling this one of the luckiest days for a very long time. Now maybe you believe in this stuff, and maybe you don’t, but it’s worth a second thought. Of course, 7 has always been my favorite number, so why shouldn’t I be inclined to believe them? I always say that I need to win the lottery, maybe today is the perfect day to start playing! I’ll let you know if I win big… ![]()
