Birthday Cards
In keeping with the birthday theme, I have to say that I had no idea just how hard it would be to find a card for my boss. I mean, I didn’t really want to go with a serious one because they generally say pretty sappy things that just aren’t fitting for the situation. But then there’s the problem of finding a funny one that doesn’t cross the line. I mean we joke around a lot, and we definitely use a lot of crude humor (when it’s just us around, and not anyone with our client’s company), but is he going to take offense to a card poking fun about a hair transplant for someone that’s balding? And he usually seems pretty shocked when I say something that’s a little risqué (yeah, he seems to think I’m pretty innocent or something lol). In the end, I chose a card that said something like “Some people your age keep feeling alive by sky diving, bungee jumping, etc, etc…. what you’ve done with your lawn is nice, too.” I thought it was appropriate because he’s always making comments about the yard work. So PHEW! Until next year anyways…
