Recently, on one of the forums I frequent, someone asked if there was anyone who was affected by diabetes. Person after person came forward to describe how they were affected, whether they personally had diabetes or it was a family member. The large response was not surprising, as according to the American Diabetes Association, nearly one in 10 American adults now has diabetes. If current trends continue, one out of three people born in America today will develop diabetes. That’s an alarming statistic.
I’m personally affected. Diabetes runs rampant in both sides of my family. My family history combined with my weight puts me at high risk. That scares me. But I believe if we all get together, we can help find a cure.
My first step is walking in the ADA’s Step Out to Fight Diabetes walk. The one in my area is taking place on October 6th. That’s only a few weeks away. Will you consider sponsoring my walk? I hope you’ll agree when I say that it’s a good cause.

If you are willing to open your wallet for a good cause, here’s what I will do for you. I have four blogs. Two of them are brand new, but they’ll gain good stats eventually. After the walk is over, and all of my donations have been turned in, I will make a post on each of my four blogs. For every person who donates $20 or more, I will add a link to the blog of their choice to my thank you posts. These posts will remain on the blogs for the entire life of the blogs– that’s a permanent link. It’s the least I can do to thank you for your support.

You can donate by clicking the link below.

If you’d rather not use a credit card to donate, you can send your donation to me via PayPal [snoopy3463{at}juno.com], and I will make the donation to the ADA in your name.

Is diabetes affecting you or the ones you love? Will you join me?
