How Many Trees Did You Decorate?
December 3, 2007 on 9:24 am | In Footprints | 2 CommentsThat’s the question of the hour… how many trees did you decorate this year? For me, the answer is THREE. Four, if you count the fact that I had to redo one of them.
I decorated one at home…

This is also the one I had to redo. It had white lights on it, and Lucy dumped it upside down anyways. Now it looks sooo much better, and so far is still standing. Though, I keep finding jingle bells in random places…. it’s sitting on top of my computer desk.
Next up is the tree I decorated at work.

Complete with sad felt tree skirt, and fake presents under the tree. Decorating this tree was an exercise in frustration. It also made me think it was very similar to most car donations– people give you their junk that they don’t want. That’s what I had to work with… beat up, scratched up ornaments. A junky tree. The garland is some that I donated from home because they had 2 strands of garland available– of different colors!! This tree has me considering making some donations of my own– to the company, during the post Christmas sales!
Finally is the tree I helped decorate yesterday at my Grandma’s. It’s also the best looking of the three trees, by far!

This picture makes it look kind of bare because you can’t see the lights on, but it really does look very nice! And now I’m officially burnt out on decorating for Christmas!!
Speak Up!
December 3, 2007 on 7:40 am | In Working Woman | No CommentsWhy do people get on the phone and mumble? Seriously. It’s still early on Monday morning, I’m going to need you to speak up and talk clearly! Some people make me wish my phone had subtitling capabilities. You want to call and ask about a job? That’s fine, but nobody’s going to hire you if they can’t even understand what you’re saying!
I’d also like to point out that what’s coming over the phone is usually not the only noise I’m hearing… don’t make me struggle to hear you over the conversation someone else is having 2 feet away, the “white noise” the company feels the need to pipe through the building, and heaven knows what else.
