I don’t think you can blog and not write a post on your New Year’s Resolutions. Last year, I wrote two… one on my resolutions, and one on my anti-resolutions.
This year, I’m not making any resolutions. I hadn’t made resolutions in years until 2007, mostly because I felt like it was just setting myself up for failure. I proved this by not accomplishing any of my resolutions from last year. This year, I’m still not making any, but not because I don’t want to fail. It’s because I have general goals for my life that I don’t want tied to January 1, 2008.
I started a weight loss journey in September, which I renewed in December. So I do not have a resolution to “lose weight this year” because I’ve already started.
I’m working on getting my finances in shape. Once again, I formulated a plan and started putting that into action as we were coming into the Christmas season.
Other changes have to do with aspects of my personality and outlook on life that I’d like to change, but those are lifetime things not a new year thing.
So when I say that I don’t have any resolutions, I don’t mean that I have nothing to change. I do, and I’ve already started.
