It seems so strange to say that it’s the end of a long week when there was a holiday (and therefore a day off) involved, but somehow it just seems like the shorter working weeks are the ones that feel the longest. Add in the fact that it was the last day of shutdown and I was bored out of my mind, and it felt like the week was NEVER going to end.
I made it through the day and went to the grocery store from work. I had some things I needed to get, and I knew if I even thought about going home first, I’d have never dragged myself back out there. I had a short list though, and I was bound and determined to get in and get out. No dawdling, skipping right over the Dodge Charger accessories (or the things I usually stop to look at… movies, yarn, and cooking supplies.) It still took me longer than I planned, but I was in and out in pretty good time for a Friday evening.
Sarah came over and we had a good time unwinding from a painfully long week. I made taco salads that were delicious and we had some amaretto with dinner, watched a movie and just talked and gossiped… a pretty typical night for us actually but it was just what I needed!
Now I’m very tired, but I’m catching up on some email and waiting to get sleepy enough to actually go to bed. I’ve got some blogging I could be doing, but my available brain power is going downhill at an alarming rate, having been up since 5 this morning!
