Focused on Finances

Do you ever feel like everywhere you turn, you’re getting bombarded with messages on the same subject. It’s like someone’s trying to get your attention. About a month ago, the message I was getting was church. I’ve started going back to church, so the message has changed. I feel like someone pulled up one side of my Bose headphones and yelling “take care of your money” in my ear. Everywhere I look, I’m seeing an article on finances. Hearing something on the radio.
I’ve been taking baby steps in the finance arena for awhile, but now I’m really feeling like I need to pull up my big girl panties, and really take care of this problem. Because it is a problem, and a pretty big one. The first step was to get it all down on paper, and that’s what I did. Looking at the numbers… the debt, compared to the bills, compared to the amount of money on my paycheck, there is only one word for how I’m feeling at the moment.

Panic.

Now I need to sit down and really hammer out my budget. Just as soon as I can breathe through the panicky feelings! Things have got to change though. I don’t care if I spend the next year eating Kraft macaroni and cheese or crashing dinner time at my mother’s house, it has GOT to change. NOW.
