8 Months of Freedom

From the dentist that is. I had my 6 month cleaning this afternoon, which of course was the high point of my day. [/sarcasm] I am not a big fan of the dentist, and I felt bad today because I was 15 minutes late for my appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 4:20pm. I don’t get off until 4… I left work at ten after 4, had no choice but to run home before heading to the dentist office. Luckily, my dentist is only a block away from the apartment, but it still takes twenty minutes to get home from work most days. Especially when you hit EVERY SINGLE RED LIGHT on the way!

The worst part was probably walking in the door, and seeing them talking about the fact that I was late. I was afraid the disapproving looks I got when I walked in the door were going to last for my entire appointment. I think we all learned a lesson though, and my next appointment is at 5:10pm so the mad dash from work won’t be an issue. That’s also why it’s an 8 month reprieve instead of 6 months– the next late appointment available wasn’t until March. In the meantime, the dentist said my mouth looks healthy, and there have been no changes in my teeth since January. Woohoo!

Sadly I haven’t been to the dentist since before my son was born. I really need to go.

In the mean time you’re tagged for a meme http://ami-chan.net/2008/07/29/six-quirky-things maybe it’ll help keep your mind off that and your bathroom for a little while :)

That’s excellent, free of dentists for a while. :) I’m not very fond of going to the dentist but last April a tooth broke and I had to go. The tooth was removed and I had a huge infection. No good memories as you might imagine. I’ve got one tooth to fix but I’m postponing the appointment…
