SPS 2/28/10

Today is the last day of February. I feel like I say this alot, but where the heck is the time going?! But at least I’ve got a picture that doesn’t look like it’s for a best acne medicine ad lol

I had a pretty good Sunday. I woke up way too freaking early, as I always seem to do. After spending some time just playing around on the computer, I did some cleaning up around the house. Then I showered and headed over to my Grandma’s house for dinner with Grandma, Mom and Harold. Then we spent some time playing Groups and Runs, and a good time was had by all. It was just nice to hang out and play cards… we used to play games all the time, and we just hadn’t done that in a long time. Cards used to be a huge staple of family gatherings, and growing up Mom and I would just call up Grandma and announce we were coming over.

Anyways, I had a lot of fun, and I’d like to do that more often in the future. :) And since I know she’ll be reading this– I love you Grandma!

Now, I’m watching the end of the Amazing Race before heading to bed… time to start a new week! Yay?

Super Saturday

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I had a great Saturday! Sarah and I had a nice girls day, no testosterone boosters required. She came and picked me up at 9am, and we headed towards Michigan City and the Lighthouse outlet Mall.

I bought a few pair of earrings at Claire’s, walked out of the Pepperidge Farm outlet store empty handed, and bought 5 antibacterial soaps from Bath and Body Works for less than $13. All in all, it was a successful trip! I also had plans to visit the Corelle outlet there in hopes of buying additional plates in the pattern I have. My glasses had other plans though!

We were headed to the car to move it around to the other side of the mall (it’s all outdoors, and it was snowy and windy– too far to walk there and back in the cold!) All of a sudden, POP, and I stuck my hand out to catch one of the lenses that was falling. The screw was long gone though, so we left and headed for a Walgreens to get an eyeglasses repair kit. A few minutes later, I had a new screw in my glasses so I could see again!

Rather than heading back to the outlet mall (I’d decided I’d already spent enough money there), we decided to go for home. Partway there, we detoured to the Four Winds casino… unfortunately all I did there was donate $20. Oh well. It was fun! Then we really did go home and stop spending money. I’ll have to go back and check out the Corelle store at another time.
