April 28, 2008 on 4:54 pm | In Blog Stuff | 2 CommentsWe had 205 comments over here, so to make it easy on myself, I dropped that number into random.org’s generator and let THEM pick the winner. Drumroll please!
52! So I found comment number 52, and that belongs to…
Congratulations Nicole! I’ll be contacting you shortly for a mailing address. If I don’t hear from Nicole within 48 hours, I’ll choose another winner.
Win a Copy of Disney’s Enchanted on DVD
April 21, 2008 on 9:16 am | In Blog Stuff | 205 CommentsI had so much fun giving away prizes during the last Bloggy Giveaways that when I discovered that the spring version had gone live, I knew I had to participate again.
What I’m giving Away
A brand-new copy of Disney’s Enchanted on DVD. I just watched this myself a week ago and really enjoyed it, so when I was thinking of something to giveaway, it was the first thing I thought of. I don’t know if this will be a Full Screen or Wide Screen version of the DVD, so if you absolutely must have one or the other, you’ll have to take your chances!
Who Can Win
It’s a Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only) DVD, so if you’ve got a DVD player that will play Region 1 DVDs, you’re good to go.

Upgrading my Wordpress
March 14, 2008 on 10:32 am | In Blog Stuff | 1 CommentI’ve been hesitating on updating Wordpress over here for awhile. The last time I upgraded this blog, it broke. And I cried. And wailed. And whined. And eventually figured out how to fix it. Yes, it worked out in the end, but not without a lot of stress and anxiety in the meantime. I upgraded Jenn Cooks awhile ago and lost my emailed comments– it’s how I keep track of your comments, and reply to them so that was simply unacceptable! I refused to change this blog until that little problem had been rectified.
Well, with the latest upgrade on Fantastico, I have my emailed comments back on Jenn Cooks. Which means I just lost my last excuse for not upgrading my copy of Wordpress over here. I’m nervous! If my blog breaks, you know what happened!
I am Blown Away!
February 1, 2008 on 3:10 pm | In Blog Stuff | 1 CommentYesterday, I posted contests for the Bloggy giveaways, both here, and a Pampered Chef giveaway at Jenn Cooks. I must say, I am completely blown away by the response! In 24 hours, the Aladdin giveaway has garnered 149 responses, and there are a whopping 310 people who have responded in hopes of winning my Pampered Chef gift certificate! This is keeping in mind that I submitted these contests fairly last minute for the carnival, and they don’t close for another two days.
I’m sure many people skipped merrily on their way, never to return, but I hope at least a few become regular readers. I think this will definitely be the case on Jenn Cooks, as a few of them already commented on other posts. I’m already thinking about what I could give away during the next giveaway carnival!
Win a Copy of Aladdin on DVD
January 31, 2008 on 10:50 am | In Blog Stuff, Movies | 192 CommentsI hope I have enough time to complete this before submissions are closed, but last-minute I decided to participate in the Winter 2008 Bloggy Giveaways
The amount of giveaways is nearing 900, so after you enter this one, make sure you head over to check out the other submissions. I’ve spent time yesterday and a good portion of this morning entering for giveaways, and I’m nowhere near even 1/4th of the way through the list!
What I’m giving Away
A brand-new copy of Disney’s Aladdin on DVD. This DVD is getting put into the Disney Vault TODAY, so if you don’t already own it, this might be your last chance!
Who Can Win
It’s a Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only) DVD, so if you’ve got a DVD player that will play Region 1 DVDs, you’re good to go.

What does my name mean?
January 14, 2008 on 7:46 am | In Blog Stuff | No CommentsI was reading blogs this morning, which is generally the first thing I do when I get to work in the mornings. Hey, don’t tell me I don’t work hard! I’ve been here for forty minutes thus far, and the phone has rang once. And that’s exactly once more than it usually has at this point of the day. Anyways, Loretta had posted a quiz on one of her blogs about what her name means, so I went and took it myself. According to Blogthings, Jennifer means:
You are fair, honest, and logical. You are a natural leader, and people respect you.
You never give up, and you will succeed… even if it takes you a hundred tries.
You are rational enough to see every part of a problem. You are great at giving other people advice. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It’s easy to get you excited… which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don’t stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are loving, compassionate, and ruled by your feelings.
You are able to be a foundation for other people… but you still know how to have fun.
Sometimes your emotions weigh you down, but you generally feel free from them. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You’re always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can’t handle you. You’re very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you’re likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
There might be some things I don’t agree with, but I see a lot of me in there as well. For those of you that know me, does that sound like me??
Also, I am apparently like Apple Pie.
You’re the perfect combo of comforting and traditional.
You prefer things the way you’ve always known them.
You’ll admit that you’re old fashioned, and you don’t see anything wrong with that.
Your tastes and preferences are classic. And classic never goes out of style. Those who like you crave security.
People can rely on you to be true to yourself - and true to them.
You’re loyal, trustworthy, and comfortable in your own skin.
And because of these qualities, you’ve definitely earned a lot of respect.
This bit of procrastination brought to you by Clausette.com where you can buy some nice sheepskin boots to keep your tootsies warm.

Last Day of NaBloPoMo
November 30, 2007 on 8:09 am | In Blog Stuff | 3 CommentsWell, here we are! With this post right here, I’m officially fulfilling my commitment to NaBloPoMo! (You know, 30 days later, that still sounds like a dirty word…) When I first decided to do this, I thought to myself, “Self, you already try and post every day, how hard could it be?” What I was not thinking about was all the other months that I didn’t post every day because I just didn’t feel like it. And to think, I had briefly considered doing NaBloPoMo on more than one blog. HA! At least I came to my senses within about, oh, a half an hour.
So the question goes to the rest of you… did you make it or is there one glaringly blank day in your November calendar? Did you resort to writing about condos for sale just so that you could fill in a post every day, or did writing fresh content every day come easily to you?? I’d have to say that most days it wasn’t too much of a problem for me. There were a few days though (like last Saturday) when I came home late after being out all day and had to frantically rush through a post to squeak it in before midnight (I believe the timestamp ended up being 11:58pm. Phew!).
Blogging on a Theme
November 2, 2007 on 9:18 am | In Blog Stuff | No CommentsI’ve seen that many of the bloggers who have taken the NaBloPoMo challenge have chosen to write their daily entries on a certain theme. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. Is there a theme I want to dedicate my blog real estate to for the next month? I don’t know. My friend Alli invited all her readers to ask her questions, and that’s an excellent idea.
Actually, that’s a pretty much constant thing here — if you’ve got a question for me, let me know! There are very few things that I would be unwilling to answer, but trust me, I’ll let you know if you happen to find one of them ![]()
In the end, I think I’ll just end up writing about whatever comes to mind– not so different from what I normally do here. I’ll answer your questions if you have them. Otherwise, I’ll just be here, doing my own thing!
NaBloPoMo 2007
November 1, 2007 on 7:57 pm | In Blog Stuff | 3 CommentsI’ve been debating all day whether or not I was going to jump in on this one, and I’ve certainly put it off just about as long as I can. I may be crazy, but I’m joining in on NaBloPoMo 2007. For those of you not in the know, NaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month. The point is to post to your blog every day during November. I try to post every day already, and never quite manage to make it. That’s part of my hesitation in joining, but I figure I won’t make it if I don’t try!
I have to admit at this point that I’m still kind of hesitant. I’m in a blogging slump at the moment. I’m leaving to go to Vegas on Wednesday. Definitely obstacles in the way. But if I do make it– awesome! And certainly much easier than NaNoWriMo! It should be interesting. I’m just happy that so many of my friends are participating– I’ll have lots of good things to read during November! ![]()
